The home of slingshot sport in South Africa

The Slingshot Federation of South Africa (SFoSA) is the national governing body for the sport of slingshot, or kettie, shooting. We promote, develop and represent the sport for communities across the country.

Who we are

A national federation for everyone

SFoSA is the recognised body authorised to represent and control the sport of slingshot shooting in the Republic of South Africa. As a non-profit federation, everything we do goes back into growing the sport, never into private gain.

Properly structured

Affiliating with the South African Shooting Sport Confederation (SASSCo) and the World Slingshot Federation to represent the sport at every level.

Open to all communities

We provide the opportunity to take part in slingshot shooting to people of every background, right across the country.

Fair & clean sport

We uphold WADA and SAIDS anti-doping standards and a clear code of conduct, so competition stays fair for everyone.

What we do

Growing the sport, the right way

From grassroots clubs to national colours, we set the standards that keep slingshot sport organised, safe and thriving.

Promote & advance

Foster and advance slingshot shooting both inside and beyond South Africa's borders.

Championships & trials

Organise national and provincial championships, trials and official records and rankings.

Standards & grading

Set the rules, grading and recognition that make results count across the country.

Represent SA

Carry the South African flag at international slingshot events and within the world federation.

Clubs

Clubs are the heart of the sport

Slingshot sport grows one club at a time. Every club, from a few friends shooting together to an established team, makes the sport bigger, stronger and more competitive. We want to see new clubs take root in every community and every province, and we'll help you get there.

Official recognition

Affiliated clubs gain official standing, and their members' results count toward national grading, rankings and records.

Guidance & support

Guidance and assistance are available for coaching, the rules, safety and grading, so your club runs on a solid footing from day one.

A national network

Join a growing community of clubs and provincial bodies, with a real voice and a vote at the federation's annual meeting.

The right to compete

Affiliation opens the door to sanctioned provincial and national championships, trials and the chance to earn colours.

Starting a club

It takes less than you think

You don't need much to begin. To affiliate a club with SFoSA, you'll need just a handful of basics, and we'll guide you through every step.

Learn, improve and progress
