The home of slingshot sport in South Africa

The Slingshot Federation of South Africa (SFoSA) is the national governing body for the sport of slingshot, or kettie, shooting. We promote, develop and represent the sport for communities across the country.

Recognition

A historic day for South African sport

On 27 August 2026, slingshot shooting was officially recognised as a sport in South Africa, a landmark moment for everyone who has helped build it so far.

With this recognition comes the pathway to Provincial and National Colours, the formal honour awarded to South Africa's top slingshot competitors, administered under SFoSA's Colours Policy as the sport's competition calendar comes online.

Slingshot may be one of the most accessible sports there is: fun, affordable, and open to every age and every nationality. With that kind of reach, many in the sport believe it has the potential to grow into one of the largest participation sports in South Africa.
